First of all we have to know what is a platform.An environment that allows programs to execute is called platform. The program that is compiled in one operating system if it is able to be executed in another operating system is called platform independent program and that language is called platform independent language.C and C++ does not provide platform in-dependency where as java is a platform independent language. Java is invented to support developing internet applications by providing platform in-dependency.That's why java programming language is introduced.
In the above diagram the server operating system is Linux whereas client operating system is Windows.So if a client want to download and execute a file from the server which is written in C or C++ language it is not possible because they are platform independent languages where as if it is an java application then client can execute that file.So that's why java is the most powerful programming language.
